Web poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several types on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the house instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the dealer declares "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the other gamblers attain 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s value is akin to your original bet, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus an amount on par with the initial bet. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays out chips even with your wager and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
