Have you noticed the new PokerPro holdem poker tables? The first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about 2 weeks back when I took a short vacation with my parents to the WinStar Betting house in Oklahoma.
As I anxiously waited for my name to be summoned at the live tables, I observed how the other people around the PokerPro tables interface with one another. It was pretty intriguing to say the least. Because the poker table was computer driven, there had been no clay poker chips to do any chip hints, no cards to shuffle and the actual live encounter was stagnant. Maybe I was the only one that discovered this, except I did notice the players in the table had a lifeless quality to them. The reason behind this may be because there was no human conversation with the croupier, the ambiance was relatively boring and the players looked bored. It was almost as if I was viewing a live variant of an internet holdem poker room instead of sitting with warm bodied humans. It was a little bit spooky and I continued to have flash backs to a show of Star trek and the holodeck broke down.
Since the waiting time for the stay tables for more than an hour, I made the decision to observe how the casino game action was and to understanding this new texas hold em poker gaming technology. After playing a couple of hands, I actually felt like I was betting at house. The lack of activity on the table was the primary reason. I like to stack and shuffle my chips, and mix my cards around. None of those items are possible at these digital tables.
Another thing I discovered was how the program dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I played a lot of hands on the PokerPro table and discovered that the bet on was a good deal like an internet based hold’em poker website. That might have been just a coincidence, but I found it to become quite odd.
Soon after betting a couple of rounds with this "unique holdem poker technology", I decided that the PokerPro tables were not for me. I’m much better off playing hold’em poker on the internet at home and not travel the distance. If WinStar Gambling den were to acquire rid of the reside poker tables, I think they’d loose a lot of gamblers.
